We’re so proud to announce that we’ve won “Best Nonprofit” in fredericksburg.com’s Best of the Burg again! That’s two years in a row of your votes propelling us to the top of all nonprofits in the Fredericksburg/Stafford region.
We don’t take this honor lightly. We know that being named “Best Nonprofit” is an incredible honor, and we’re so grateful for your unwavering support.
We also know that we have a responsibility to our community and to our animals to keep doing our work even in these most challenging times.
We’ve worked hard over the past several months to continue doing the work that makes us stand out, as a mission-focused, compassion-driven nonprofit organization in the community. Since the COVID-19 crisis began, we have made it a point of pride and responsibility to do everything in our power to continue serving our animals and our community. While some things have changed as we navigated this crisis, our core values, our commitment to forever homes for all of our animals, and our passion has stayed the same.

Today, as we celebrate the honor of being named “Best Nonprofit,” we also celebrate our 11th anniversary!
11 years ago, the Stafford SPCA was officially founded as a no-kill shelter for homeless animals, and a voice for the voiceless. Being able to announce that we earned our title of “Best Nonprofit” on our anniversary date makes us reflect on how far we’ve come.
